AM10.1 - Book Group

**Form purpose
Use Book Group (AM10.1) to create a grouping of books that can be processed
together. Book groups are user-definable collections, or categories, of books
that can be referenced, processed, or reported on. You should use book groups
when you want to perform the same process or run the same report for multiple
books.

**Prerequisites
You must define books before you can assign them to a book group.

**Required fields
The Book Group, Description, and Book fields are required.

**Decision/Impact
Lawson recommends that you include books with identical calendars in a book
group. This may prevent the closing of a final period for one book while
closing only an interim period for other books. For example, if a General
Ledger companies book uses monthly period but its tax book uses quarterly
periods, you should not include the General Ledger book and the tax book in
the same group.

**More help
To generate a list of existing book groups, run Book Group Listing (AM210)
