BN70.1 - COBRA Participant

Use BN70.1 (COBRA Participant) to track information about COBRA participants.

You can add a COBRA participant manually using this form, automatically using
personnel actions in the Personnel Administration system, or automatically
using benefit automation reports in the Benefits system. See the Personnel
Administration and Benefits Procedures manual for information on automatically
adding COBRA participants.

If you want to add an employee or a dependent as a COBRA participant, you
only need to define the participant's occurrence and occurrence date. The
other information--including address, Social Security number, birthdate, and
so on--default from the Human Resources system.

    BNCOMPANY  - The Benefit Company Parameters file is accessed by this
                 program.

    LETTERCODE - The Benefit Letter Code file deletes all COBRA participant
                 letters.

    LETTERTEXT - The Benefit Letter Text file deletes all COBRA participant
                 letter text.

    PARTICIPNT - The COBRA Participant file is accessed by this program.

participant's eligibility.

You can update these dates using this program, or by running BN170 (COBRA
Notification Report), BN171 (COBRA Letters), and BN175 (COBRA/Retiree
Outstanding Invoices).
