PA20.1 - Education
**Form Purpose
Use Education (PA20.1) to track information about an employee's education.
**Processing Effect
The Personnel Administration system uses education information to determine
whether or not an employee is qualified to perform a job. An employee's
education must have a complete date to meet the education requirement of a
job.
When applicants are employed in Hire an Applicant (PA52.4), their education
information from Applicant Education (PA34.1) automatically updates to this
screen.
Updated Files
APPLICANT -
BNCHANGE - The Benefit Audit file is updated with benefit changes.
BNGRPCHG - The Benefit Group Change file is updated with group changes
that affect benefits.
CKPOINT - The Check Point file is the environment file used for recovery.
EMPCODES - The Emp/App Personnel Codes file is the main file updated by
this program. Records have EPC-TYPE = ED.
PACOMMENTS - The Personnel Comments file is maintained by this program on
delete function. Removes personnel comments with PAC-CMT-TYPE =
ED.
PAEMPLOYEE - The Employee Personnel Information file updates
PEM-LAST-EPC-SEQ.
PERSACTION -
PERSGROUP - The Employee Group Header file is updated if education is a
condition for group membership.
PGEMPLOYEE - The Employee Group Employees file is updated if education is a
condition for group membership.
Referenced Files
BENEFIT - The Employee Benefit file is used when recreating employee
groups to verify whether benefits exist for an employee.
DEPTCODE - The Department file is referenced by the employee edit routine.
EMPLOYEE - The Employee file is used to verify employees and employee
security class.
EMSTATUS - The Employee/Applicant Status file is used to verify employee
statuses.

HREMPUSF - The Employee/Applicant User Fields file is referenced by the
employee edit routine.
HRSECLEV - The Employee Security Level file is accessed by this program.
HRSUPER - The Supervisors file is referenced by the employee edit
routine.

JOBCODE - The Job Code Parameters file is referenced by the employee
edit routine.

PACOMMENTS - The Personnel Comments file is maintained by this program on
delete function. Removes personnel comments with PAC-CMT-TYPE =
ED.

PADICT - The HR Systems Data Dictionary is used to retrieve the data
type of the field being updated.

PAEMPPOS - The Employee Position File is referenced by the employee edit
routine.

PATHFIND - The Employee Report Writer Paths file is referenced by the
employee edit routine.
PCODES - The Human Resource Code file is used to verify education
degree and subject.
PGSELECT - The Employee Group Plan Selection Criteria file is referenced

PRSAGDTL - The Step & Grade Schedule Detail file is referenced by the
employee edit routine.
