PA21.1 - Competencies

**Form Purpose
Use Competencies (PA21.1) to track information about an employee's
competencies.

**Processing Effect
The Personnel Administration system uses competency information to determine
whether an employee is qualified to perform a job.

When applicants are employed by using Hire an Appliant (PA52.4), their
competency information from Applicant Competencies (PA35.1) automatically
updates to this screen.

If competencies are required for group membership as defined in Employee
Group Definition (HR55.1), the employee will be added to the group when the
final required competency is updated.

    APPLICANT  -

    BNCHANGE   - If skills affect benefits, the Benefit Audit file is updated
                 with the benefit changes.

    BNGRPCHG   - The Benefit Group Change file is updated with group changes
                 that affect benefits.

    CKPOINT    - The Check Point file is the environment file used for recovery.

    EMPCODES   - The Emp/App Personnel Codes file is the main file updated by
                 this program. Records have EPC-TYPE = SK.

    PACOMMENTS - The Personnel Comments file is maintained by this program on a
                 delete function. Removes personnel comments with PAC-CMT-TYPE =
                 SK.

    PAEMPLOYEE - The Employee Personnel Information file updates
                 PEM-LAST-EPC-SEQ.

    PERSACTION -

    PERSGROUP  - The Personnel Employee Group Definition file is updated if
                 skills are a condition for group membership.

    PGEMPLOYEE - The Employee Group Employement file is updated if skills are a
                 condition for group membership.

    BENEFIT    - The Employee Benefit file is used when recreating employee
                 groups to verify whether benefits exist for an employee.

    DEPTCODE   - The Department file is referenced by the employee edit routine.

    EMPLOYEE   - The Employee file is used to verify employees and employee

    EMSTATUS   - The Employee/Applicant Status file is used to verify employee
                 statuses.
