Dashboard module to new tab?

I have never come across a way to "copy and paste" a module. I have built a new dashboard using an existing one by exporting the dashboard and then importing it. You can also link to a module, it wouldn't be the full module but they could click the link and get to the existing module.

We have a dashboard we call reports repository. That dashboard has modules and reports that we use in other dashboards. What we have done is create a link to the reports repository dashboard so when clicked it opens the module. You can add the url for the module into the new module and use the update module option under the content tab. If you play with this you might be able to get what you want so you display the module on two dashboards but don't have to maintain two dashboards.
