When we process a new employee, it seems that the PR13 is sometimes filled in with default resident/state information and sometimes it's not. Sometimes when it is filled in, it's only partially filled in. We've narrowed the issue down to "Salary History" - it's missing. For every individual who is missing PR13, they do not have Salary History filled in on their record. (drill around > salary history folder is missing)

What would cause a Salary History error? We have hired 2 individuals to the same position code and one works and one doesn't. ACK!

Not sure this relates to your situation - do the records have other actions processed, too - possibly retroactively? And do you use full tax locator functionality?

We have that situation occur randomly as well. I've never been able to pinpoint the root cause and can not duplicate it so I've not called it into Lawson. We enter new hires directly using the HR11 and filter taxes to federal only.

And one more question - are they step and grade employees? I've seen that in the past (apps v8.1) that was corrected with one of the MSPs. It related somehow to position defaulting -

Most of ours are with employees who are not step and grade. Thank you for responding. If you can think of any other connection, I am certainly interested in exploring it.

This error has happened with a variety of employees - Merit and Step/Grade. The latest two are both Step/Grade employees. Their hire actions looks the same with the exception of missing Pay Rate Detail information under the Personnel Action History folder and the Salary History folder is also grayed out on the one individual who is 'wrong'.

When I go to HR11, both individuals have something in the Schedule, Grade, Step section. Could it be that this was keyed directly on the HR11 causing the issue? Typically if it's missed we'd correct it on PA52.

Thanks for all of your great suggestions! Keep them coming!

@Stephanie - we don't use BSI in Lawson. We export our payroll data to Ceridian and we calculate all of the taxes using the Ceridian product.
