We're in the process of upgrading from 8.1 to 9.0.1 apps, and have discovered that a frequently used inquiry screen has been retired - PR51.3 Pay Stub Inquiry - Web. What's so nice about this screen is it shows non-closed payments - very useful when our users are calculating adjustments, etc. I'm poking around throughout the application, and can't find an equivalent screen. Has anyone else ever used the PR51.3, and do you have suggestions for a work around? Many thanks - hoping I'm just having a blind moment and not seeing a useful replacement....and would prefer not to have to clone or mod (yet). Thanks!!

HI,
The short answer is I think it's retired and was never really used for very long.
I worked at Lawson some time ago in HR Development as the analyst for ESS/MSS . My recollection is that program was written to support a version of Employee Self Service that was created using Design Studio as management wanted to showcase that product.
The direction we were given was to create a version of ESS/MSS using Design Studio without additional javascript logic (as a non-technical person using Design Studio would not typically be able to write JS code). In the standard version of ESS/MSS JS code added bells & whistles to make the task user-friendly and function efficiently).
We couldn't create a self-evident paycheck task using Design Studio only, so a Cobol program was written to support the paycheck task (PR51.3).
That version of ESS/MSS didn't last very long in the field. As a result, PR51.3 hung in the background for a while and I think has ultimately been retired. That's my best guess.

Thanks, Jill - now all I need to do is convince my users that they don't really need the screen.....
