Asset Management Mass Addition

We have quite a few assets that need to be added to our Lawson system before our fiscal year-end which is June 30. I have been told that AM500 may be our only options; however, that does not create the GL journal entries automatically and we would have to manually create them after loading the assets. Has anyone completed a mass addition of assets? If so, what process did you use? Any information on how to do this mass addition is greatly appreciated.

We are doing a multi-step upload basically mimicking the manual process of adding assets: so we have a AM20.1 upload, AM20.3, AM20.4, AM20.5 and AM23.1.

We first upload AM20.1, then run AM170 in non-update, to get the Asset numbers generated by the system. We then key this asset numbers back to the template and then we do the rest of the upload; AM20.3 if more lines are needed, AM20.4 for the books, AM20.5 for JE, and AM23.1 to add any attributes.

We find this a better process than manually keying all the data especially if adding a bunch of assets. I am sure there is a better way than this, but this is all we have for now.

We created templates in AM12 and upload via add-ins. This creates all the steps and creates the journal entries. I found the steps in the InforExtreme knowledgebase KB 1190246. I will try to attach it here.
