LSF9 UPgrade Deadline

We are on application 8.1. Does anyone know if there is a deadline when companies on 8.1 have to upgrade to version 9? I can see version 8.0. upgrading but usually Lawson runs more than one version.

Also, what is the deadline to upgrade the enviornment to LSF9?

Lastly, is the upgrade from 8.1 to 9 just an upgrade or a full implementation? I assume we would just need to have difference training.

I'd appreciate on any insignt you can share with me.

- Deadline for LSF9 migration is 5/31/2009
- latest deadline I've seen for 8.1 apps is 5/31/2010, so you can do the LSF9 migration now, continue running the 8.1 apps, and do 8.1-to-9.0 apps upgrade later
- 8.1-to-9.0 apps is an upgrade, and is differences only

Do you a difference document? Do you have a upgrade document? Are there any conversion programs that we will have to do because of new fields?

One other question, if we upgrade to version 9, can we stay on laua? We use portal.

Lawson provides the upgrade programs to handle the differences as well as the docs on differences and performing the upgrade.

You will need to contact your account rep to start the process, and one of the steps will be that they add those to your downloads on the support site. The rep will likely also try to convince you that you will need to hire Lawson to do the upgrade--certainly not a requirement, regardless of what they try to tell you :)
