ESS Life Events

We are testing to possibly use ESS in particular for benefits. However, the Life Events section only has 7 categories. Does anybody have any sugguestions on how to use more defined life events (Death, Court Order, etc.) categories without customizing?

I'm guessing you must have already seen the KB Article 755604 that you cannot add additional Life Events under ESS.
