Hello!
Has anyone upgraded to Tax Factory 9 yet? I am working on 9.0.c (ya' know, the one that was MANDATORY and DUE 06/27/2011). I previewed the CTP that Lawson indicated was required to run TF9. According to the preview, it wants to compile 634 programs! I know that 9.0.c might not really be mandatory, depending on what states you need, but we are soon going to start our 9.0.0 to 9.0.1 app upgrade. I was hoping to get 9.0.c done before we started with the app. Testing both the app upgrade and TF 9 at the same time sounds reasonable, except for the timing. We do not plan go live with the app upgrade until September. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Thanks,
Dawn

We applied 9.0.c to our TEST system last week and will apply to Production next week (assuming the testing goes well). We are ESP 9.0.1.6 and MSP 9.0.1.4. I'm not sure what your question is, but if your application won't be in until Sept, you need to get TF9.0 on first since TF80 is not supported after August.

On App 9.0.1, did you need to apply a specific CTP to be able to run TF9? If so, how many programs did it compile? Thanks.

My SysAdmin had to apply two Env patches (JT-136022 and JT-149507) and one App patch (JT-83249/CTP 72239). The App patch did about 96 compiles. We would have had a lot more compiles - but we had applied CTP 78887 a week earlier which pulled in a bunch of stuff and resulted in a long list of compiles (I don't recall what he said, but I think 400+ was about right).

Barb, thanks for that information. Here was my main concern...TF 9.0 is something we need to do "quickly". But 600+ programs is more than we can test "quickly". Actually 96 is still a lot more than the few modules that will actually use Tax Factory. I'm encouraged that you are going from test last week to production next week. Thanks again. Dawn

Just as an FYI - BSI is scheduled to release mandatory cyclic 9.0.d on 7/7. We were preparing to test and upgrade to 9.0.c but are now hoping to skip 9.0.c and go directly to 9.0.d. It will be somewhat dependent on how soon Lawson issue their installation alert indicating whether or not there will be a CTP to go along with 9.0.d.

Quick question - I was forwarded two email today to act upon - one about the manatory upgrade due by 7/31/2011 and another with 7/31/11 time stamp saying to apply a cyclic update to bring us to level 8.0.s.1. I am confused. If the 8->9 upgrade was needed because they would no longer support 8.8.x then why the cyclic update. Any idea if they are required at all and adjustments need to be made to other systems - like HR/PR after the patch or upgrade? We are having a time getting through to BSI and Lawson. Any information is welcome.

There was a notice from BSI a couple of weeks ago about the possibility of some extended support (not necessarily their wording) for TF8. So I guess they are still putting out updates. Of course, this extended support is not free.
Also, with that kind of version (8.0.s.

), I've noticed it's often a correction.

"a correction" meaning its a patch to a problem in the previous code release? This would imply as a mimimum we need to get the 8.0.s.1 installed?

There was a notice from BSI on 08/01 about problems with CT withholding. The 8.0.s.1 mentions CT.
On the BSI website, the status of 8.0.s.1 is "not mandatory".
Although, if you pay in CT...
