I rngdbdumped my Portal bookmarks from our current 8.03 to a csv. Now, I need to load them via LO920 to the new LSF9.0  Has anyone completed this? Any pointers? We do have several Custom bookmarks in our 8.03 -

(any specific layout or example csv file would be great!)

FYI: We are remote hosted - so I do not have command line functionality yet.

Michael, bookmark migration is part of the 8.0.3 -> LSF9 migration process, and should be done as part of that process--are you doing the LSF9 migration yourself?
Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

You should be able to find several examples of the "standard" LO920 input format in the $LAWDIR/logan/work/LAWSONLD directory, such as $LAWDIR/logan/work/LAWSONLD/LAWSONLD.

However, instead of starting from a rngdbdump, I'd try the program LO921.  This program seems to be undocumented, but it appears to create a dump of bookmarks in exactly the format required by LO920.

Has anyone else used this program?

No our new Hardware Vendor (Velocity) is working with Siemens on migrating our Environement & Data, I was told that our Custom Bookmarks would need to be loaded - that they "..would not migrate over"

Ben - No I havent heard of this program, thanks! I assume then I will ned to manual update the CSV with any custom bookmarks we have built/designed and place the file "LAWSONLD" in the .../work/logan/LAWSONLD directory? (Stripping the 'csv' extension off? or jobdeffing the LO920?)

Also, what about the Sequence Number, and Bookmark Numbers? What if they are already existent in the 9.0 LAWSONLD, is that possible?

LO921 should dump all bookmarks, including your custom bookmarks. Of course if you just want to copy certain bookmarks you can edit the file to delete the lines you do not want. I don't think you need to edit the sequence numbers with this method but I haven't tried it lately.

When you have the output file just copy it to /work/logan/LAWSONLD/LAWSONLD to import it. It has to have that exact name to import it with LO920.

Be sure to read the printed report from LO921. Sometimes it will skip a bookmark if LO921 decides that a bookmark is corrupted. In that case you might need to re-add that bookmark manually.

Ben, thanks for all the info and sorry to reply to such an old forum, but I've slightly different requirement. We never used portal or IOS in the past. First time we will be using lawson portal with 9.0 env/apps. Is there any way to convert an existing lawson 8.0 menu into lawson 9.0 bookmark? I would really appreciate any response to this post.

Thanks.
