Suddenly our Oracle resources are very thin and we are trying to figure out how to refresh Lawson production data to test. We want to use the Oracle 10g data pump. Any tips or suggestions which may be Lawson specific? We are on 9.0.1 LSF and 9.0.1 Apps. Both test and prod databases are on the same server, along with test and prod environments.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Duane,
I am in the same boat as you. I have lot of DBa here and they recommended not to use Oracle 10g data pump. We were trying to use so that we could obfuscate data from prod to dev/test due to GLBA issues. The data pump in 11g is a much better option.

We just finished our re-implementation of LSF9.01 (went from 803 to 901 and changed HR and GL structures)
I used Oracle 10gR2 datapump to refresh the data on the test boxes over 200 times during the life of the project. (still use it, now that we are live, just not quite so often)
Our db is approx 250GB is size and the datapump finishes in approx 5 hours.
The 5 hours includes dumping the prod db and copying to the test server, and the datapump import etc. I dump all 3 schemas (gen, logan, prodline).
I have the whole process scripted and combined with some rsynch stuff to copy all the lawson code, print files, ldap stuff, was stuff to the dev server.
Happy to share

Hi Travis - thanks for your feedback. Primarily, the DBA is interested in the Data Pump parameters used just to refresh the prodline data to our test database. I don't think he is using a dump and import strategy, rather a direct link export/import? Does this make sense? If you have time for me to introduce my DBA to you, maybe he can get a few pointers from you? Thanks!
