We're migrating Lawson from HP Integrity 11.23 to HP Integrity 11iv3. This also means that we must use WebSphere 7.0, Tivoli 6.2, DB2 9.5, and Server Express 5.1.
Currently we're running Tivoli 6.0, so my main question is...Is there an easy way to get everything out of Tivoli 6.0 and into a fresh Tivoli 6.2 install?
Can we simply backup the current DB2 database in TDS 6.0, and reload it into the DB2 database for TDS 6.2?
TIA,
Jeff

Jeff, I went from AIX 5 to AIX 6 and had the same issues. TDS is the not pretty part. I hosed it pretty bad and had to get LPS in to clean up the mess. You should be able to dump an LDIF file out of 6.0 and load it into 6.2, assuming that your instance name stays the same it seems to be fairly easy. If you are changing the instance name, that gets more difficult.

The LDAP suffix and instance are identical on the old server and new server. The only difference is that we're running all the latest and greatest (cough) in third party software.
The first thing that I'm going to try is the db2 backup and db2 restore. If that doesn't work, then I was going to try the "ldif". Other than not having any of the users over yet, everything has went as planned, and is working well.
I've actually gotten pretty good at dropping instances, deleting suffixes, and then recreating them all over again. Can I ask what happened with your TDS portion?

I was migrating from the old to the new version on the same machine. When calculating the disk space I did the math on 512K blocks wrong, multiplied by 2 instead of divided to get the disk space. IBM documents indicate that this is not recoverable. I'd agree with them. Ended up installing everything from scratch and rebuilding TDS. Fortunately, this was in TEST, so there was only 20 or so users to do. Don't run TDS out of disk space.
