Hello, for those of you on TM, what is your deployment strategy for the general user population. Is the general user population using browser based java applet or local rich client install? Did you encounter obstacles with either solution?
Was remote access a factor in the decision?
Thanks.

Hi,
We used a local install for some users, but for general employee workstations the icon is delivered via Citrix. For access externally we also use a Citrix web portal, which I would not recommend. Due to security concerns we have citrix block the uploading of certain files through the Citrix web portal which delivers the Landmark/TM application- this has caused alot of frustration from our general user base and for internal job applicants. We are looking forward to upgrading to 10.2, which supposedly has a delivered website for both internal and external applicants, and will enable us to work around the file upload issues. Also there's issues with sending out links to external websites via the Citrix-delivered option.
And yes, remote access was a factor in the decision.

What version on Landmark you using. Latest version supports webUI. WebUI is much better than Rich Client and Java Applet.
I prefer java Applet over Rich Client. It’s easy to maintain and user does not need any admin rights to Java Applet. But If you are running more than one Java version on PC, Java applet is not going to work.

Thanks to you both for feedback. The tip on the Web UI made my day after seeing this interface on screen. This is a great option to explore, do you have any experience using this?

I have been using the webUI from 2 months, I liked it and easy maintenance.

If you're going to use the WebUI, make sure you push to the latest Landmark version (and TM while you're at it). When we were testing with LMRK10.1.1.8, it was buggy and had alot of issues. The WebUI is exponentially better than the rich client for the average user though. You may want to check the compatibility matrices for the right version of IE to use as well, we used IE9 and that worked decently.
Setup is very straightforward, and security can work the same way as in the rich client to restrict access to features.

Peter,
How did you install the Rich Client in Citrix?
Thank you,
Nabil
