HR14.1 addins for changing records

I am trying to build an add-ins to add an end date to the HR14 record.  This would technically be a change.  But when I try to run the add-ins it says "Employee does not exist" when the employee and the add-ins line is clearly in the system I am testing this on. 

Has anybody been able to successfully create an add-ins for changing an employees HR14 record?  I found a post from 2010 where the person alluded they were having trouble with getting the change to work on the add-ins.  But there was no response on how to fix it or if it was fixable.

Margie - thank you!!! I will be honest, lately I have little success with the KB and I had not even looked there. I was using the wrong employee field, so once I fixed that I was able to run the add-ins.
