PA52 Comments in MSS

Has anyone ever customized MSS to use comments?  The Portal form allows comments, but it is not available in self service.  The client would like these comments to flow through the approval process in ProcessFlow.

I did on 8.03 apps/8.03 env. Involved customizing two pieces of code personnelactions\pactions2.htm and \personnelactions\palawheader.htm. Painted a box to enter free-form comments that I just fed line by line into PA56.

I have done something simular, and had logic in the approval flow to read the Inbasket comments and add them with an AGS call to PA56
