Congrats on posting!

Can someone explain to me the biggest difference between PFI and PFX? I see that there is not a translator for WebSphere included in PFX, but what does that mean exactly?

Anyone out there licensing PFX over PFI ...

It is PFI minus the WebSphere Tranlastion component...but, not really sure what that means.

It doesn't look like this questions was answered and I am trying to find out the same information. Article ID 5408320 talks about the differences when doing the install.

PFI includes the mapping tool and PFX doesn't - does anyone use the mapping tool? We are trying to determine which version of the product to purchase.

TIA,
Karen

We use the mapping tool in most of our interfaces which were originally written by a consultant.  It is good (efficient) for data transformations.  The downside is that you have to download the IBM product and figure out how to do the trees and maps, then upload the right pieces to the right places.  For simple files I find it easier not to use it.
