Intermittent hanging on portal and LID

Ever since we migrated our environment from 9.0.0.9 to 9.0.1.9 and application from 8.0.1.7 to 9.0.1.9, our users have experienced intermittent slowness or hanging on LID and portal. The LID user will see the hour glass and everything is frozen up. It normally lasts less than a minute and then it works again. We are on AIX 6.1 and Oracle 11g. This types of intermittent hanging has never happened in our old system. Any suggestions willl be highly appreciated!!

As a first step, I suggest checking with the lid command vwdblog for any clues ( or review $LAWDIR/system/ladb.log ) as well as the other $LAWDIR/system logs that are being recently modified. You may also be running out of temporary space somewhere, such as database transaction logs for example.

Thanks Phil for your response. We didn't identify any errors in all those log files. And there are plenty of free space left for oracle redo log files and temporary tablespace. Could you please be more specific on temporary space that you meant? Thanks!
