Hello
We are in the process of moving to Virtaul servers in a new datacenter. Can someone tell me what is the best way to move the current installed instance of Lawson on windows 2003 environment from an old hardware to new hardware. We have 3 servers that support one environment of Lawson, one for IIS web server, one for IBM app server WAS & Lawson application server, and finally the last one is Database server ( MSSQL-2005).
If someone has done this before, then can you tell me what are the steps to peroform this move and what resources and timeline should we need to untertake this project?
Thanks for your attention to above request.

What virtualization technology you are moving to? Vmware? XenEnterprise? Hyper-V?

You might want to do some checking, but last I heard, Lawson doesn't support virtual servers for production, although it is ok for dev/qa.

To add to John's comment -
to my knowledge
1. Lawson supports bare metal virtualization on UNIX. That includes AIX LPARs (though it's a question whether LPAR is really bare-metal virtualization) and to my knowledge HPUX NPARs
2. Lawson supports software virtualization of certain kind on UNIX. That includes Solaris LDOMs and to my knowledge HPUX VPARs.
3. Lawson does NOT support some other software virtualization on UNIX. That includes Solaris zones.
4. Lawson does NOT support ANY virtualization on Windows in production, including bare-metal hypervisors. That includes VMWARE server, VMWARE ESX, Hyper-V, VirtualPC etc.
If you run unsuported virtualization on UNIX, you're on your own. GSC may not answer ANY questions you have.
If you run virtualization on Windows you MAY need to open cases related to TEST (rather than PRODUCTION), hence you may get priority-3 on all issues.
