Security Config Portal

We have users who use Portal at the office during the day. These users are Back Office users and they run Payroll and do HR stuff. How can we stop these users from accessing the standard Portal from outside the office and only allow them access to the ESS? Can we do this by Port they are using or by IP.

Are these users single sign on where they can access their personal ESS information as well as Lawson apps under the same login? If so this is a great example of why I do not see this 'convenience' as being a good idea. Someone who uses their work login after hours will show up in the log and raise questinos, while someone with a single ID might log in and claim they were using ESS but instead have been looking through organizational data.

Our ESS/MSS users have a separate login from the one used to log in for work purposes in Lawson apps and they always will. Single sign-on for Lawson users is all upside for the EE and all downside for the organization.

Russell's comments are certainly interesting!

One other option - the Security Administrator has the ability to secure objects by date and time. You could use that to secure the areas for regular work to be accessible only during work days while allowing ESS Security Class(es) to be accessible at all times.
