Hi,

I am stuck with the SSO install to LBI in the SSO install guide page 13 of the worksheet. DSSO base install directory..is this referring to the application directory such as EFS, ERS, or ESN?

The next part is on page 15-

Copy the dsso.xml file (located on the DSSO machine, at DSSOBaseDirectory/law/
system/dsso.xml (UNIX, MSCM only) or DSSOBaseDirectory\law\system\dsso.xml
(Windows) to the Lawson Environment machine.

Is this a file that will be created by the DSSO.jar application on the LBI machine and then needs to be imported into LFS via SSOCONFIG?

Thanks,

James

1. You need to define a base install dir. typically I do %drive%:/lawson/DSSO
2. yes, it will be embedded in the install dir under youre DSSO instance

jellis:

The DSSO base install directory is one that you basically make up. It can be anything really, but it refers to a local (to the machine that you are installing DSSO on) directory. For LBI, for instance, we have LBI installed at D:\LBI for the LBI base so we have D:\LBI\DSSO for the base directory for DSSO (that way we can tell that it goes with LBI)

It will create a \law and \gen folder under there.

Yes, you will need to load teh dsso.xml file (which will get created for you by the DSSO.jar app) on your Core app LSF server using SSOCONFIG.

Thanks Gentlemen..that helps a lot. For the LAWSON_JAVA_HOME environment setting, should I add this in along with the full path under Environment Variables or do I need to set something elsewhere?

Do you mean the actual environment variable, or the java dirctory you enter when running DSSO.jar?  In my case these are different, but as far as DSSO is concerned it can be any valid java install.  The Java pointed to should have the Bouncy Castle updates, and should be at the same version as the Java used in the back end system.

also just a note, be sure not to include spaces in your env variables and if there are youll need to represent them with an ~, such as c:\Progra~\IBM\WAS

I also believe there is a character length limitation.

Thanks all of this information worked very well. I generated the .xml file, added to ssoconfig and deployed the lawson.ear file. Now I am trying to change LBI which has already been up for awhile using LDAP to SSO. The problem I have is that the sysconfig assistant does not have an option for SSO.

Is there a trick to bring this back?

Just by installing DSSO on your LBI machine should add the option. I think it's called "Lawson Single SignOn"

Ok...so if it does not show up, then I must have the wrong version of
Bouncy Castle or something?

You need to install it possibly twice... once in the sdk java, and for sure in the Websphere java. That may help. I know we had to do that.

After the install of DSSO, you may also have to stop/start server1 for changes to be recognized.

Thanks Greg. I think now I am a little lost.

I am on WAS 6.1FP23. What I did was to copy the java folder out of WAS to
c:\java15 and setup the environment variables to point there. I used the
bouncycastle version as referenced in the DSSO manual and the policy rules
from IBM. This is all for IBM Java 1.5.

I restarted all of the LBI services, will I need to restart LSF or anything
on the apps side?

If your LBI server isn't running on the same instance of WAS as LSF, I don't think you need to.

Jellis, I just spent the last month learning WebSphere, DSSO, and LBI the hard way. With the help of GSC I got my DSSO working. If you are still struggling we can compare notes; joanna.bledsoe@jhsmh.org or yahoo IM jrbledsoe001@yahoo.com
