LBI Configuration

Has anyone found any good background information on LBI configuration?

Lawson help tells us how to configure services but not what they are, what they are used for, how they work etc. When things go wrong, it's hard to debug without background knowledge.

For example, we've created attributes and grouped reports into lists. Now we are trying to attach a report list to a dashboard module. If we just paste the list's URL, the user is prompted to login. We are supposed to be able to configure a service but I followed the instructions and it doesn't work.

Bonnie,

I notcied the last time I did this that the instructions were spotty at best. The key is to be sure you set the "type" property to "render", keeping in mind that this value is case sensative. Also, avoid spaces and special characters (%,&,?,etc) for any of the values, although i used spaces in the description. Not a requirement but just to be safe. The URL I used was http://lbiserver/ers/en-us/, keep inmind if you are using the default tomcat installation youll need to include the port.

We bumbled around and figured out how to do this by trial and error!
