DR Testing

We are in the infant stages of testing our DR strategy; we already have an off-site mirror (lpar'd AIX) that we run our DEV and TEST on and we replicate our local live data to the remote site. Then comes the 'looks pretty - but does it work?' issue - which requires live testing. Has anyone completed this phase of testing and if so, can you share some lessons learned?
