Wondering if someone has used the basic Lawson product (S3 and yes, we are upgrading) - without customization - for a tuition reimbursement plan?  I would like to be able to put in the annual amount the individual employee is approved for (budget) and then track reimbursements as they are made.  Ideally, I would be able to project this into the future.  For example - I apply for tuition reimbursement and am approved for $3,000 each year for 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. I know deductions can be treated as add to net, so there are possibilities there.  I appreciate the sharing of any successful plans even if not exactly what I have described.  Thanks.

You can set them up as LP plans with dollar allocations depending on your rules. This would mean you will need to use non earnings paycodes so the dollars are decremented. We have always used paycodes for tuition reimb so employees are taxed appropriately.

Were you successful in implementing this in Lawson? We are having similar requests at our hospital. The way they are doing it now is tracking on a spreadsheet and submitting requests to payroll. Taxing has been an issue recently since it's all manual entries into Payroll.

Do you have your tuition pay summary groups set up with a remuneration code of E015 on the PR20.2?

No, we do not..... could this be why someone who received over $5250 in tuition reimbursement was not taxed on anything over $5250?

That would be my thought. I would recommend you set it up in a test product line and check it out to make sure it works for you.
