Does any one have some easy to understand instructions on getting R&D off the ground. The ones from Lawson are kinda cumbersome to follow.
From our testing so far the Vendor Configuration and Location Set Up has to be set just right in order for PO's to be available to receive via the HHT Device.

There is nothing easy about RAD. If you are currently using Lawson applications for POs to Vendors, you do not set up vendors and carriers again in MSCM. (MSCM can apparently also be used as a stand-alone app where you would have to add such things.)
Also if you are using other Lawson apps, then when configuring Companies and Locations, choose to 'Add from Procurement'. When adding Users, 'Add from Portal.'

In my experience with RAD it has been a series of trial and error, and multiple support cases. I can't really offer a blanket outline, but if you have a specific question maybe that could be answered.

I have a question of my own as well. I am trying to setup an Intermec printer for use with "Print for Delivery" from the MSCM web client, so as to print off our tracking barcode labels (as many as the "Labels" option specifies in PO30 on the [Receiver] tab.)

Under "Printer Management" in MSCM I have created a test printer which I have tried pointing to both my workstation's IP and hostname to no avail. It is using Port 9100, Protocol: RAWSOCKET, and Language: IPL.

Under the "Map Label Printers to Workstations" option in MSCM I pointed the label printer to my workstation's IP as per the Receiving and Delivery User Guide. This is the only way to set this up that the guide details.

When I do the "Print for Delivery" option (after Release and Print on PO30), and choose my printer nothing happens. The Intermec printer is connected via RS 232 Serial Cable to my workstation.

        Any suggestions?

RAD setup is complicated and takes experience. There are so many variables that it is impossible to simplify. You can either iterate back and forth with GSC or get some external help. Good luck!!

You have to use the "Map to Locations" option (under Printer Management) for Delivery Ticket printing. You must map the appropriate printer to every location that has the potential to be in the PO Line Ship To. Delivery Ticket printing doesn't use the "Map Label Printers to Workstations" options. Both your label printer and report printer must be defined per location.

Also, I agree, there isn't anything easy about RAD setup. Lots of trial and error. We even had a consultant come in to train us, but there was still so much we had to figure out on our own, and Lawson's documentation leaves a LOT to be desired!

Our RAD Go-Live is today, and I believe we have most of the kinks worked out, so wish us luck!

It might be a bit late for good luck, but I hope your go-live went great!

I ended up having to setup a network printer for label printing using a static IP, and that resolved my issue. I should have been reading the MSCM Admin Guide, not the RAD User Guide.

Currently trying to figure out the following, probably will open a case with Lawson, but insight as always is appreciated.
              - Dock Log is set to Auto-Print under Delivery > Configuration > Misc. Receipts, but it doesn't print. I have a default Report Printer setup that works when I manually print from the web client.
              - Most things printed from the MSCM web client are *extremely* small and difficult to read; Dock Log, Location Print, Vendor Print, etc.

In follow up to my previous post, the Report Printer setup wasn't working because you need a PostScript printer setup in Unix to the printer IP, and then you use the name of the PostScript printer as the hostname in the MSCM web client instead of using the IP. The problem with the small font was only with windows printer queues in IE7, and was resolved with a combination of installing IE7 Cumulative Security Updates as well as a registry edit to set the IE "Shrink to Fit" option (only under Print Preview) to default to 100%. There is no way to disable "Shrink to Fit" from being used automatically when printing web pages in IE7 however.

This is probably a shot in the dark, but here goes. Is it possible to create a delivery label in MSCM that can later be used to deliver the product to our RAD dept, and then wand the pkg. delivery label so it can be auto received into the Qsight (O & M) Inventory Mgmt system? I don't think so, but this is one last try to see if anyone has done anything similar. Thanks
