AC17.1 - Labor Rates Use AC17.1 (Labor Rates) to define and maintain a labor rate table. Rate tables determine the billing rate to be charged for labor hours during the life of the activity. The labor attribute is associated with transactions by the PW source code in GL05.1 (Source Code). You attach the labor attribute to the rate schedule on this form and the rate schedule is attached to the activity in AC15.1 (Activity Billing). To define a labor rate for an activity, you must complete the following. 1. Use MX00.1 (Attribute) to define the attribute. The attribute values are the mechanisms that produce the activity. For example, the attribute values can be a job code, job class, attendance code, employee, or pay code. Choose the Objects button to define the attribute as an Activity Transaction object type. Note: The element must be a Lawson defined element. 2. Use GL05.1 to associate the attributes with the PW source code. This is the Lawson defined code for Employee Payroll Wages. 3. Use this form to identify the Rate Schedule for the Labor Attribute. 4. In AC15.1, select the Rate Schedule in the Rate Schedule field. Select Time and Materials in the Billing Method field. Choose the Customer button to identify the customer to be billed. 5. In AC10.1 (Activity), select Yes in the Billable field. 6. The account category associated with the activity must be billable. Use AC06.1 (Account Category Assignment) and select Yes in the B/L field. This must be a Cost type category defined in AC05.1 (Account Categories). 7. Return to this form to define the billing rate for the attribute values. You can also define billing rates based on units using AC17.2 (Unit of Production Rates). For example, you charge $5 for each nail. You must define the unit of measure (the nail) in AC17.3 as Units. Use AC17.3 (Units of Measure) to identify the unit of measure (the action of the activity) as units or hours. For example, type Hours to indicate the standard cost relates to the number of hours a contractor worked on the activity. Use the Assign button to assign Hours units of measure to resources and the UOP button to assign Units of measure to a rate schedule. Run AC217 (Billing Rate Listing) to list labor rates for a rate schedule and labor attributes. Updated Files ACBLRATE - This is the primary file maintained by this program.
