BN171 - COBRA Letter Print

Run BN171 (COBRA Letters) to create letters to notify new COBRA participants
of their right to extend benefit coverage or to create letters for COBRA
participants with late payments. You can create letters, mailing labels, both
letters and mailing labels, or labels and a letter form.

If you run the report to create notification letters, BN171 creates initial
notification letters for COBRA participants whose Participant Notified field
in BN70.2 (Participant Dates) is blank. BN171 updates the field with the date
of the letter.

If you run the report to create letters for COBRA participants with late
payments, BN171 uses the delinquent premium letter selected in BN00.2 (COBRA
Parameters). When the report creates delinquent premium letters, the Letter
Date field updates to the Delinquent Premium field in BN70.2 (Participant
Dates).

To see participants who have payment due dates that exceed the grace period,
run BN175 (COBRA/Retiree Outstanding Invoices). If premiums are not received
in response, you can run BN175 to cancel coverage.

    PARTICIPNT - The COBRA Participant file updates delinquent premium payment
                 date or date company notified COBRA participant of rights.
