We had a stock item and a non-stock (set up erroneously) for the same item. The non-stock has been inactivated in IC11, IC12, and PO13.3; however, when the stock item is loaded on PO25 for the contract, an error message of Item (non-stock) is found but inactive. You cannot move forward with the stock item number on the contract. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

PO13.3 does not care about stock/non-stock. It cares about the part number and will not let you create a duplicate part number per vendor number.
You can try to Replace the nonstick item with part number WRONGITEM on PO13.3 - then Delete the correct part number from that record. Then try to put the stock in PO25.6 again.

Thanks, but it's a bit more complicated. PO13.3 has been inactivated but can't be replaced for the nonstock b/c items were ordered against it on a contract.

A contract from Contract Management? I've not encountered that, but reactivating the item and then using replace works for us without Contract Management.
