We are looking to use two of the user fields to populate out legacy manufacturing system. We are inquiring to see if anyone has written a user exit application for validation of the AR Customer User fields.
We are currently using the LSF9 security to "block" invalid entries to fields but the only message that will display is "Security Violation". If anyone has an idea on "customizing" the user fields we would love to know.

User exits will certainly work for that type of situation (in fact they're the perfect solution since they will work for LID, Portal, Addins, etc.), assuming you just want to do the validation, and not actually update your manufacturing system.

We have used User Exits in many of our processes/programs and works great!
Keep in mind, when you apply Application patches that touches the "parent" programs to the user exits, make sure you recompile User Exits as well.
