US TAX DEDN UPDATE ERROR

Ran a pr113 - edit report showed that 1 employee who was hired in the beginning of sept 2012,  had an edit next to his name.. " warning = social nbr is invalid"

i checked the fica on the hr11 screen and ee & hrhistory  tablesoth indicated the  SSN in question is correct.. THIS is the first cycle in which he is being paid since his hire date.

Ideas on what the issue may be..

"Social Number invalid" usually means that the number hasn't been issued by SSA (it's been a long time, but I think it still holds true that, for example, no ssn begins with the number 9....) - you can validate the information on the social security website -
