We're in the testing phase of a very aggressive project to move our Lawson platform from HP/UX to IBM/AIX. Everything appears to be going fine except we're seeing some major performance issues around using ProcessFlow Designer tool. As an example, in the Eclipse Designer tool, when opening and retrieving the list of flows on the server, the list comes back in less than a second. On the new box (which is far more powerful in about every way) it takes about 18 seconds. Then, when adding a simple email node, while you're adding it, if you try to move it or do anything to touch it, a dialogue box with "Loading Document List" appears then goes away after a few seconds (as something's processing?). We're concerned about these performance issues we're seeing. Any thoughts from anyone about cause? Or have you seen this? Thanks so much!

Hi Leonard Couchaine,
It sounds like you are using PFA/PFI (LSF/Classic Pflow) rather than Landmark Pflow...so I'll answer from that perspective.
I'd recommend you take a look at the logs and see if anything pops out at you.
- On the server I'd recommend checking - ladb, lase, etc.
- On the Designer client machine, check the designer log - mine is at C:\Program Files (x86)\Lawson Software\ProcessFlow901\workspace\.metadata\.log
Just to be sure, you might check to be sure the version of Designer is the latest version available for your environment version. It is possible that the environment you have on your HP/UX machine is different from the environment on your IBM/AIX machine.
Good Luck.

You may also include this test. Isolate the issue to the local machine.
Save the same Processflow xml file to C drive (not to a network drive).
Open the designer (eclipse) and work offline. Test by addind an Email node. This way, the designer is not retrieving any data from the server. Any performance issue can be traced back to the local pc settings.

JudeBac, Thanks for the perfect suggestion! Indeed, when we add and adjust the email node when in offline mode, there's no performance issues. We're quite sure this is something server-related and this test helps to prove that. Thanks so much and have a great weekend! Lenny

Good thinking!
Please let us know when you track down the issue. It will be interesting to hear what you find out.
