Log files 'install log' 'IOS Log'

Hello,
I am trying to understand how our install log which was current at the time of the last update (ctp) in February now has a date of march 2013.  Some of the other files like ios logs etc have shown the same dates across all environments.
Also the permissions have changed from lawson/lawson to root and system.
I did do a search on a touch to see if that was the case and the last time was in 2013.

Any thoughts on where I can look for what may have happened?
