Drill security to field level

We have a user who needs to view TR21 to review training information on employees. We do not want this user to be able to drill around on the employee number. Security is set to where the EMPLOYEE file is not available thereby taking care of drill security. However, the search options under the employee number drop-down field on TR21 are also not available so this user cannot select employees by name as this points to the EMPLOYEE file. Is there a way to grant the Employee Name search option but prohibit drill around to any other sensitive information in the EMPLOYEE file? Thanks in advance for any comments.

Yes, you can do that--it's painful but certainly possible.
What you need to do is drill down a little further in "File Security". On the EMPLOYEE table, press F6 and select "Field Security". Then delete any fields you want to hide. When the drill around is displayed, the values will be ****'d out.
A tip on the delete step---you can press [Home] on multiple fields, and then press F9 to delete in one step.

We have tried something similar to this, but even though the security class has the field removed, it still shows on the screen. We've been able to get some of what we wanted via HR9 and HR10, but that seems to only apply to HR-related fields. What are we doing wrong?

Ah, a fine point. Notice that the subject of the question was "Drill Security". Field Security DOES NOT affect what you see on the actual form. The best you can do is what you have done with HR09/HR10, and/or get to LSF 9.0's new security model.
