We are trying to use a Lawson report as a data source in crystal. We have the URL and are able to publish that to LBI. But ultimately we would like to use the report to create a larger report in Crystal which we could then publish in LBI.
Is there a way to tie this report to the tables in Lawson via Crystal to create the larger report?
Any thoughts or suggestions anyone has would be appreciated.

We use Crystal to write custom reports out of our Lawson database all the time. Is that what you are trying to do?

No Katy, we are trying to use the results of an actual report, such as PR340.

Kelly,
If you can export the report output to excel, the excel file will work as a source for a crystal report. I use this method to combine information from external databases (such as our WC insurance provider) with our Lawson data for Management reports.

Donna - do you publish any of your crystal reports that are using excel files into any type of BI? We are trying to publish one now into SAP Business Objects and it won't render, it is asking for a username and password for the excel file.

Kelly H- You're using a Lawson canned report, which uses Lawson tables as its source, as the source for your Crystal report? Why not just go directly to the tables in Crystal?
Mary- I have a report published to LBI that has a sub-report with an Excel file as the source. We had the same issue. Our Data Source Mapping is as follows:
For Lawson table data
Datasource in Report:
PRODLAW
Override Datasource:
Lawson Prod ODBC
Default User ID:
lbiuser
Default Password:
[lbiuser password]
Confirm Password:
[lbiuser password]
When Viewing Report:
Use the User ID and Password Entered Above
For Excel data
Datasource in Report:
[path to Excel file stored on shared network drive]
Override Datasource:
Use Report Data Source
