How are you handling the following:

Stock unit of measure is Eaches, but we have a Buy Unit of Measure in Box.

If my par level is 20 and i count 10 my order quantity is 10.

The order quantity on my po is calculated at .5 since the buy unit of measure is 20. We need qty to be 1.

How do you handle this?

Mark,
Assuming this is not a LUM/JIT situation, the most straightforward answer is to change the UOM for the item on the Par Location to the Buy UOM in the IC81. This should be your default set up for any non-stock (vendor-direct) par location item. There may be a small training issue as to when you place your order (at the very moment that is drops below the 20EA/1BX level or somewhere closer to 10EA/.5BX). Your answer will depend on physical space limitations and just how quickly the item is utilized at the location.

Our set up is exactly as Red has explained. Decimals for quantity are not allowed for any items. We use MSCM for par ordering. If a nonstock item is set up on the par at the stock uom and is ordered using a handheld scanner, the MSCM app will reject the item giving a message "Zero decimal item; cannot convert cleanly to any buy uom"- or something close to that. When I see this I just fix it in IC82.
