Cap annual usage

Hello, An employee can accrual more than he can use in a year. How do I set up a rule that limits an employee to where they can only record X amount of sick or vacation, etc a year   thank you in advance.

27 Pay period Open Enrollment - No New Plans

Hi Everyone,  We are in the midst of opening our Open Enrollment and ran into a snag with the 27 pay periods.  We have already updated the pay frequency tables in BN15 to reflect 27 pay periods and ran BN104 with an effective date of 1/1/2015 to pick up the amount of pay periods.  When I go in to BN32 I can see that the new rates took. However in my OE process, it is still picking up the 26 pay period rates.  Is there any step that I'm missing for it to take the 27 pay period divisor What d...

27 payroll periods

We're looking for a way to not have any time accruals on that last payroll for any of the absence plans affected by the 27th pay period.   We could make a manual adjustment on each person's balances,  but that seems like the worst possible solution and the last balance printed on their checks would be incorrect.   Does anyone have any ideas how we could accomplish this   Thanks!

LP accrual limit - a better understanding

We set up our LP plans several years ago, so I'm a bit fuzzy on setting up something new, so this is a little rambling with lots of questions.  Currently, our PTO plan has a limit of 300 hours.  Employee can exceed the 300 hour balance until the first of a new year when we reset it back to 300.  We would like to change the plan to a limit of 300 hours at any time.  In other words, when the employee reaches the max of 300 hours balance, they will not accrue until the balance drops below 300.  Can...

Employee Groups - how many ways to use?

I've read in various forums where some companies use hundreds of employee groups.  We are on version 9.0.1 and use them for benefit plans,  accruals, standard time records and a few for grouping jobs.  I'm wondering if there are other uses of employee groups that we might be missing out on.  I would appreciate hearing from others on how they use groups, especially hundreds of them!  Thank you

PR295 Hours Missing

I am trying to get hours to show on the PR295.  Currently all hours are reflected as 0.00, so we assumed it was because the PR197 was deleting the time records.  I'm told the close process was tested without checking the delete time records flag, but the hours still did not appear.  Any suggestions Thanks in advance!

LWSN Payroll...No LWSN AP - Garnishments

Does anybody out there use the subset of AP and the interface file out of Lawson Payroll to a non Lawson AP to generate Garnishment checks We are looking at just using the APCINVOICE file generated by the PR198 to send to our JDE AP for the generation of payments.   Having just the subset of AP, we seem to be getting in a viscous cycle of going nowhere with the AP setup.   My thought was that we need an AP company and the ability to setup some vendor records.    Anybody have any thoughts S...

PR35.2 PG (Process Group)

We have to pay someone for 3 pay periods in one check. Payroll is trying to use the PG field/function on PR35.2 to group the separate pay period's time records together so that they won't be lumped together for tax purposes, but it isn't working. Is there some other way to do this Or do they have to cut manuals for the previous two pay periods

Charging Employee Benefits

Hi, Is there a way in Lawson to charge the employee's benefit premium (Health/Dental) to their home cost center For the employee recovery as well, we had to map this to 1 cost center, then run a PR295 to allocate this to the employee's home cost center. For our phycian based practices, we prefer to charge all the benefits to the employee's home cost center. Thanks!

We are attempting to install BSI TF10 in our production environment (installing in TEST was a bear to say the least with the little guidance and poorly written documentation BSI provided). Changing EIN/Head PL

My client is acquiring a company that is running Lawson, we need to maintain their current Company/PL setup for purposes of benefits/PA and downstream/upstream integration points however we also need to change the EIN under which the employees are working/rolling up for W2 purposes.  Currently there are 15 PL's rolling up to 1 Head PL (PR09) and another 4 PL's rolling to another Head PL, so 2 EIN's.  I've created a new PL, flagged it as independent and gone to PR09 and deleted the relationship b...

Head Process Level

If you are using the Head process level would you be willing to share your set up with us We are trying to have two head process levels.  It does not look like this can be done.  We have 4 PL's that are non profit and 3 that are taxable.  Has anyone been able to build Lawson so the Unemployment taxes come out for the taxable enities

Delete PA03 records

Has anyone done this with add-ins I'm trying to delete many records from PA03 via add-ins and I must be missing a field. I am using company, position, effective date, fc=D, field number and Change Only, and it says it ran but no message under results and the record has not been deleted. Appreciate any help I can get. Cycle Based Accruals and Total FTE Factor

Hello, We have accruals based on Total FTE as a Factor in the calculation.  When we run LP 140 to update available hours, the accruals are based on Total FTE.  Is there a way to date stamp the FTE so that if we are running LP140 in December for the November accruals, the FTE from November would be used to calculate the accruals instead of the FTE of the employee in December Currently it is picking up the FTE in December even if the LP 140 is run through 11/30. 401k Deferral change file

Is anyone willing to share how you bring in your changes from the vendor file Add-ins or BN531 And then how do you subsequently manage the match limits From my experience, the correct limit for the new deduction that was created based on the deferral change has to be manually calculated based upon ytd on the deduction, but there must be a better way. 401k Company only plan

I have to set up a plan for employer only contributions to a 401k plan. it's a percent of wages but has an age band so I can't just make it a deduction unless we manually change the amount every time there's a birthday that changes an employee band, but I'd like to be able to use BN102 to manage that so that's why I want to put it in a BN15. Has anyone got anything like this setup If so are you willing to share your setup
