Asset Template
This file contains asset template information. It can be used to interface
asset information from the Activity Management or Accounts Payable systems.
Asset templates are defined in AM12.1 (Addition Template).

information needed to create asset
records. They are defined in AM12.1

The template is a way to create assets
with very little keying; using a
template lets you default many of the
data items associated with a new asset.
An asset template is required when you
define a new asset as the result of
transactions from the Lawson Purchase
Order, Accounts Payable, or Activity
Management systems.

asset subtype represents a more detailed AM15.2 AM15.3
grouping of assets within an asset type. AM15.4
Asset subtypes are used to group assets
into reporting classes and allow common
asset definition data to default.

Element: Account Group This is the account group for the AM12.1 AM15.1
asset. Account groups are user-defined AM15.2 AM15.3
and are used to identify general ledger AM15.4
accounts used to create journal entries
when assets are processed.

Element: Accounting UniThis is the accounting unit for the AM12.1 AM15.1
asset. The accounting unit must be AM15.2 AM15.3
defined in the General Ledger Names file AM15.4
as a posting accounting unit.

Accounting Unit Accounting unit groups group and AM12.1 AM15.1
Group identify the accounting units to use AM15.2 AM15.3
when you create journal entries for AM15.4
adding, adjusting, transferring, or
disposing of assets. Changes to
accounting unit groups are dynamic,
affecting all assets using the
accounting unit group. Accounting unit
group names are user-definable, and
accounting unit groups are set up by
company.
