In this case, I'm trying to hook up an LBI published report to use an Excel 2007 spreadsheet as it's source of data.

I keep getting prompted for a default User ID and password when running with a data refresh.

Any pointers on how to set this up would be appreciated!!!!

i suppose asking "why god, why?" would be in appropriate so....

Id bet its permissions. Where is the excel file? If its not on the local server to the RAS engine you will need to do one of the following:

      1. move it to the RAS server
      2. run RAS and maybe WAS services with a network login that has access to that file
If any of my answers were helpful an endorsement on LinkedIn would be much appriciated! www.linkedin.com/pub/matthew-nye/1a/886/760/

Thanks.... that pointed me in the correct direction... It was on our corporate P: drive, and since the RAS server knows nothing about mapped network drives all I needed to do was go back to the Crystal and recreate it using the UNC path to the file.

Oh, and yes... DO NOT get me started!!!!! For whatever reason (mostly lack of motivation to spend the money for additional sql instances, this company is WAY huge on Access and Excel being published through LBI and distributed.

        Thanks!!
