Hello,
I am installing LCT9.0.1.8 on one server in a horizontal scaled environment using the revert option.
When I try to run the install on the other sever, I'm not getting the 'revert option'.
What am I missing?
Do I need to do the install on both servers?
Thank you

What do you mean by 'revert option'?
Are you trying to revert back to a previous install?

Well,
We went from aix 5.3 to 6.1
Was told to reinstall LCT and patch, portal and patch. and use the revert option
On the first server I was given that option to 'revert'.
i'm not seeing this option on the 2nd server when I start the install. it is more like reload.
Is there a difference?

Ok, there are actually two problems here.
1) The server that presented the 'revert' option versus the one that did not.
The only reason that option would be presented is that the server had been patched beyond the level of the ESP being reapplied, and the reapplication would 'revert' the version levels back to the ESP. This also says that the secondary server did NOT have the same patch levels as the primary server. I would evaluate the LAWDIR/system/install.log to determine all of the patches that had been installed, so that they can be reinstalled on the primary, and then subsequently installed on the secondary.
AND, the more important issue...
2) Upgrading from AIX 5.3 to AIX 6.1
The reason Lawson instructed you to 'reinstall' the ESP was to apply the AIX61 version of the product, which includes updated oracle linked client interface. This would have also required you to install the 64-bit oracle client (if not already installed), the COBOL compiler in 64-bit mode, and 64-bit WAS (again, if not already installed)
On the secondary server that didn't provide the 'revert' option, all you need to do is 'Reload' (John H and team, double check me on the label of that option, as I'm doing this from memory)

Thank you for the response and the explaination about the 'revert vs reload'.
The reinstall was to deliver the binaries for AIX6.1 as well as what was mentioned above.
I will proceed..
Thank you again...

Ok.
When I started to the install I'm getting the 'update'. Option.
So this is a result of the two being out of sync?
Thanks
