    Gurus,

Question: Has anyone encountered problems with the LASE process suddenly dying?  We have this problem regularly.  The intervals range from as much as a month a part to just a couple of days apart.  We are currently on environment 9.0.0.7.360 and have installed patches recommended by Lawson to correct the problem, but it still occurs.  Our configuration is one server with four partitions, one for each component: application, web server, LDAP, and databases.  The logs do not seem to completely show what the problem is, so I was wondering if anyone has had any problem and if so have they found anything to correct it.  I am open to all ideas.  As I continue to investigate the logs I will add posts that may be helpful.  I appreciate the help.

    Thanks.

    Matt

We had the some problems with LSF 9.0.1.2 on integrity. One problem was in the security administrator. It wasn't freeing it's hold on LASE. So stopping LASE required cleaning out the DB2 processes in IPCS. If IPCS was not cleared for each cycle of Lawson the LASE would hang again in the near future. We believe both where ultimately solved by going to 9.0.1.4. That was 2 months ago and we have not hung since.

We were also on the HP Integrity server and running 9.0.1.2. Our problem wasn't that LASE would just crash on us, our problem was that the LASE process would not die when cycling Lawson each night. It wouldn't happen every night, but I would say it was a couple times a month. Our system admin eventually had to write a script to monitor the process on shutdown, and kill it if needed. Of course it took users trying to sign in the next morning and not being able to before we finally figured out what was going on. I will also agree that we have not had the issue since upgrading to 9.0.1.4.

9.0.1.4 presented it's own issues with (1) The "You have been logged out" message screen instead of the login screen after logging out of Lawson. And (2) The drill/selects were EXTREMELY slow, especially on the HR11 screen. This is a bug, and they gave us a workaround by changing a value in the xssvalidator.properties file. We were also told that the fix will only be fore 9.0.1.5. 9.0.1.4 users will have to continue using the workaround.

          Thanks for the replies!

          Jim,
Is your application and LDAP on seperate servers or partitions? Did you have to free DB2 processes that run on the application partition or the LDAP partition? Sorry if I sound a little unsure, but I am still getting to know and understand how the LDAP, LASE, and the Application all work together.

          Thanks again.
          Matt

We are on 8.1 Apps/9.0 Env. We are currently using 32 bit but will move to 64 bit when we go live with 9.0.1 Apps/Env next April or May.
