Anybody have any advice on how to print pick tickets as orders come in for the warehouse. We used WH130 currently. We are looking at a way to auto print pick tickets as orders from our warehouse are approved?  I was thinking process flow? Any other ideas?  Thanks,

If you run WH130 through recdef then you can select Report Distribution in jobdef and have it print automatically. If not then a flow might work except that if you have different clerks running it then you would have to set the flow up to search each directory for WH130 and also hope that they don't create a new job every time like some of my users do.

Or add a batch number to the job so the same batch prints every time like some of my users do and then ask me why they keep seeing the same order print out.

But yeah, recdef for scheduling and setting the distribution printer in jobdef is the way to go if you want to automate this.  We set up WH130 to run every 15 minutes when we went live in 2004 as recommended by the consultants but I didn't like how much paper was wasted everytime just the parameter page printed when there were no orders to print.  At that time the parameter page (WH130.prt) and the pick list (pick3-prt) weren't separate output files.

Thank Jim and Jon for your responses. I think the suggestions will work great and happy that we don't have to use process flow.

We have the same setup with the wh130 in recdef but we run 3 seperate jobs(groups of locations) stagered every 30 minutes in to speed up the run times. We have so many locations to processes that the jobs were waiting for the other to finish.
