Right now we do not process annual enrollment as an immediate update but we are considering it for next year.  Our current concern is that when we review the BS31 prior to updating with BN531 we find aobut 1/3 of our population electing FSA does not have a value entered into the Coverage Option field.  The value should be the number of pay periods (24).  We have not been able to identify any specific cause for this.  We opened a ticket with Lawson, unfortunately they want us to recreate the issue.  Can't recreate the issue because it appears random!

Anyway, we would like to consider the immediate update.  Has anyone experienced issues with the immediate update - missing data or benefits updating wrong?

Anyone else experiencing issues with BS31 missing data in the coverage option field for FSA plans?

    Thanks

We also have some 0's and some 24's in the COVER_OPT field in the BNBEN table but I believe that I had figured out that
it was dependent upon whether they entered an annual amount or a bi-weekly amount on the enrollment form. In any event it
didnt matter because when I did the upload everything calculated for 24 on BN32.

We do New Hire enrollment as immediate and I have a report that goes to Benefits every morning to show who enrolled in the day prior
so they can review BN32 and enter any catch-up deductions. I think doing Annual as immediate would be a nighmare for us because they'd
have to call the Benefits office throughout the enrollment period every time they wanted to change what they elected. It's easier for us to audit
and upload after the enrollment period is over.

        Mary,

Thank you for your reply!!!  That makes sense that the COV_OPTION would not be populated (or populated with a 0) if someone entered an annual amount vs per pay period amount.

Looks like we are going to do Annual Enrollment with the immediate update option.  We have done some testing and found someone can go in multiple times during the Annual Enrollment period to make election changes.  Each change continues to be updated immediately!

        Again, thanks for your help!!!

Glad that is working for you! We've been keeping the data in BS31 from Annual Enrollment in the system until we are ready for the next annual enrollment
so that we have backup/proof when the employee calls to contest what their benefits are. It's good to know that the immediate setting allows multiple changes now,
it didn't when we initially set it up but we were on a different platform/version then. Have fun!
