We have created a reporting dashboard for our leadership to roll out monthly reports. The dashboard is updated when the new month is complete/run. Under LBI the admins can get to the "historical" instances but we are not clear on how to allow the end users with limited rights access to the past reports. Hopefully this is a simple process that we have overlooked. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

I have attached a .jpg of our dashbaord. Most of the reports on the right have "historical" data.

      gary,

You want to look into Report Lists. Without reposting the contents of the RS User Guide, a report list can be created for the historical instances of one specific report or multiple reports if desired. Theres a whole host of filters you can add to your list to refine the list. If the filters you desire are not there, you can use Attributes to create custom attributes and attach them to the related reports or historical instances and then create filters based on these attributes.

Once the list is created its just a matter of deciding how you want to display it, as link that opens in a new window or as the rendered content in a module or dashboard.

      hth,
      Matt

We tried to setup the link once but the security of the report (bursted report) was not correct for the end users. Appeared to use the security of the person who set the link.

I found the same thing to be true - I created a report list for the historical instances, but it does not use the user's rights for bursting. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Look at the Bursting Options that are set on the historical instances. It could be that your schedule is not set up to enable bursted rights. If you set up youre bursting rights after the scheduled instances were generated, the historical instances will not have the bursting rights associated with them. You will probably have to do this manually to every historical instance (but dont quote me on that as Ive never tested this scenario).

I figured out my problem....I think. I did create my rights before my bursting adn all my instances did have the bursting option on it, but I had not specified any users on my list so it defaulted to all. Once I added my security group to the user of the list, users were only able to see their companies/deparments that were set up in the bursting.
