For those that are interfacing unit cost over to your clinical system for patient charge pricing have you developed a policy surrounding the updating of those prices? We would like to gather some ideas from those that have a good process already established. We currently update once per year but will be moving to twice per year and would like to create a policy to ensure compliance.

We interface to Epic. Epic HB calculates implant cost on the actual cost from that nightly interface. The supply costs are done annually (though they may go to 6 months)
There are only 3 of us that update pricing on the PO25.6. We have an honor system that if something was loaded completely wrong, or if a massive contract change comes through - we'll send those over to Corporate Finance to adjust. But for supplies, the variances for any one product for a typical business years are within a comfortable tolerance for Finance. (Which - I assume - means for Medicare.)
