    We are currently in the process of installing Lawson at our facility and on our old system we printed checks via Adobe Output Designer and in HR we used Crystal to do this.  Is it possible to use one of these programs to print manual AP or Payroll check.  If so, could someone shed some light on this for me.

    Thanks,Thomas

      AP checks can be generated to either a "spool file" (think "dot matrix") or to a "electronic" flat file. Most clients send the results thru another software package, such as Bottomline, Payformance, or MHC Document Express. This "beautifies" the output and also allows them to send a positive pay file to the bank. Some clients also use this method to send remit notices to their ACH vendors.
      Thanks for using the LawsonGuru.com forums!

        Thomas;

        It is "possible", but you will have to do a lot of work. I have used Excel in the past as well.

        Depends on your budget.

        We use BottomLine's Paybase to print checks.
