PA52 error: No prior history for adjusted date of hire

We had an employee who worked for our company prior to installing Lawson. He also worked for us after we installed Lawson. He terminated while we had Lawson, so a term record exists on his account but not a prehire/hire action.
He was scheduled to be rehired so we keyed the prehire action (this gets things like his PC set up and a security badge started). Unfortunately, he didn't actually show up for the job and we're now trying to reverse out his prehire action on PA52.
We keep getting the error message: No prior history for adjsuted date of hire. We can't seem to delete this out of the system b/c there was never a prehire action on his first round of employment with us.
Suggestions?

You can go to the HR54 and enter the prior value of the adjusted hire date. Then you should be able to reverse the action.

If you go to HR54, pull up data item 51 (Adjusted Hire Date) and inquire. You can add a line of history there, use an effective date before whatever shows on that form (I'm assuming you log the field to history), and leave the New Value blank. That will insert history,and you can then reverse. We do it all the time here, usually with required user fields, and it works fine. I generally would use whatever effective date is equal to the last personnel action performed on the record. Good luck
