We are currently using the Lawson Fax Integrator and have been having a lot of issues recently. We are looking to pursue alternate solutions and was wondering what others use and the likes/dislikes you see?

    Thanks in advance!

We have used the Lawson faxing solution (under whatever current name) and to my knowledge there is no suitable alternative to it. I would agree that it's not the greatest piece of programming. But a few months ago we installed the latest version on a virtual server and after getting a modem of fairly recent vintage connected to the machine that runs the VM it has been extremely reliable, moreso than at any time in the past years. I still shut down the application and reopen it once every couple of weeks - perhaps a memory leak causes it to crash eventually. Other than that, it's been working very reliably. It would be easier to get your existing Fax Integrator system working properly than to try and replace it.
Our dialup modem faxes are much more reliable than in the past, and another great help has been moving 3/4 of our vendors to an emailed PO (which also comes from the Fax Integrator).

Concur with Russel's comments: previously (5-6 year ago) we moved from a PC passed solution to a virtual server. Has worked substantially better. Installation is a little more fussy: Installed using an account with Admin rights. Set up the worker bee account and startup application for Fax Integrator. Server reboots nightly (during a dead period).

We do not have any direct attach modems but are using a BISCOM fax server. To Lawson all "faxes" are emails: either to @domain.com or to @.biz. Fax Integrator then passes all (real) faxes to the BISCOM server on it's smtp email agent to be sent out. BISCOM handles modem pooling and scheduling, retries. And (knock on wood) we have not had any problems with BISCOM failing to send out the faxes.

What version of Fax Integrator are you using and do you have any customizations to the cover page (large graphics)?

Is it always with the same vendors or various (random) vendors?
