    Trying to get e-procurement punchout set up.  We are able to go out to the vendor's site and create a shopping cart, but when we try to bring it back in to Lawson RQC, I see a message "Punchout Runtime Exception com.lawson.webapp.framework.system.rq.b2b.punchout.remoteServlet.exception.PunchoutRuntimeException  java.net.ConnectException: Connection timed out: connect".

    When I look on the punchout server's WebSphere SystemOut.log file, I see that the order has come back from the vendor, then a timeout message is in the log.  Any ideas?  We think we have our firewall rules right, but it looks like the failure is between the punchout server and my Lawson server.

    Any ideas would really be appreciated. Thanks

      Gary, is this an "each and every time" thing or a does it work some times and not other times?

      We experienced an intermittent "timeout" issue.  My [obvious] caveat is that I am not technically savvy with any of the setup components for punchout. In our initial punchout setup, our Technical team set up three JVMs (Java Virtual Machines, I believe) for the communication between our organization and the supplier. The intent was to build in some load balancing, and this may have been based on Lawson's build documentation. However, this setup caused issues because a node communicating outbound was expecting to recieve the inbound information, but the return would sometimes be shunted off to another node. Again, not clear of all of the details, but it was resolved by rebuilding with a single JVM instance.

      Good luck,

        Hi, Red, it's happening every time. And it's not really taking all that long, maybe 5 - 10 seconds before I get the message. And I only have one JVM on this punchout server in the DMZ. (Lawson recommends no clustering, etc)

          This is now resolved. We had an issue with firewall rules/policies. In particular, I think it had to do with our punchout server connecting to ariba.com or service.ariba.com (wasn't allowing traffic to/from the correct port, I believe).

            Gary:

            I am getting this error message only in TEST environment, not in PROD.

            Trying to use punchout and get this message:

            Received Fatal Alert: Unexpected_Message

            using IE8

            Thanks
